The International Girls in ICT Day 2014 is celebrated today 24th April 2014. Almost 2700 events in 121 countries have taken place empowering over 70, 000 girls and young women globally. It is an opportunity for girls and young women to get an insight into ICT sector to consider ICT careers through open days at ICT institutions, meeting women role models, and even getting “hands on” experience in technology.

Note that the Member States of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) agreed in 2010 to celebrate the International Girls in ICT Day on the 4th Thursday of April, every year.
